Hello every one I was hoping someone could shine some light on this problem for me. Ok van came from another shop they put 2 transmissions in it and rebuilt the last one and still could not get it to work (P2560 could not be fixed). Now the van is at my shop. Van would not move removed oil lines no fluid pressure. So replaced the transmission oil pump put the tranny back in, still no pressure, changed valve body, still no pressure. Removed a transmission from a good working sprinter and installed it in to this one P2560, P2561 van drives until it tries to switch to 2nd then goes in to limp mode. key off, key on, resets and the same thing again. Replaced 4 different egs modules same thing, replaced 3 shifters same thing, checked and rechecked all the wires going to the valve body all good. Removed oil lines from radiator put air through the radiator goes through easy. I got another sprinter with a good transmission but before I go replacing another tranny is there anything else I can check? replace the abs module? the wheels are 16s and normally a sprinter has 15 so try different wheels? also looks like the differential was replaced could that effect it? or maybe try a diffrent engine ecu? I am splitting atoms with this thing :stars: sorry for the long write up. any thoughts at this point would be greatly appreciated Thanks

(p.s. i got 4 sprinters for parts so I have all the extra parts for it)

An update put original wheels on still same. Replaced abs module same. Lifted the van on a lift turned asr off put it in gear and the van shifts flawlessly no limp mode or anything. Lowered the van removed front abs speed sensors, drove the van, it shifts very rough but no limp mode and it shifts now. Checked abs speeds they all check out fine.
So
1. Front abs speed sensors are bad? With no codes.
2. Tranny is bad and won't shift under load?
3. Or???
Any ideas?

An update. Drove the car with star connected abs speed was 10km less then cluster, discided to unplug the cluster for the hell of it. Removed the panels/cluster and found a mice nest. pulled on the wiring harness and now the can-bus is shorted. So now i am pretty sure i found the problem? Thanks everyone and hope this helps someone. If all else fails look for rodents!

i still think you got a wrong gear ratio on differential.... And you wrote earlyer that it has been replaced. with another one

Yes the diff has a rebuild # on it. But when I drive with star abs sensors front and back are dead on. Wouldn't it drift off if the diff was different ?

trans output sensor speed and abs wheels do not mach...!!!!!
not fornt and rear!!! incorrect gear ratio fault!!! Front and rear wheel speeds will be the same as far as tire size is ok but wheel sped and trans output will be out of spec.

Now I understand thanks for clearing it up! And you were right as always I repaired the can-bus and still nothing same problem. So I removed the cover off the diff and counted the teeth 37 on the planetary and 9 on center all other SPRINTER diffs are 41 and 11 so WTF? I call the previous shop it was at and they said it had a mercedes C class tranny on there? WTF? does the C class diff fit in a sprinter too? In any case problem solved drives like a champ. Thanks again!!!
