Hi Folks,
Is there anyone who has been running the CEM-1 250kb emulator for Volvo ME7 ECU and get it to work?
I have problems with the emulator to indicate OK condition, even though it has correcy SYNC programmed in the emulator.

Hi, could you be more specific about your problem.
Please provide the method how did you get sync bytes, also what sync bytes did you use for emulator, sequence of job was made before and after write sync bytes to the EMU, jumper positions and LED states at the moment? Etc...

Re: ECU Volvo Bosch ME7 2.4t 2001 with Emulator CEM-1 250kb, works?
Sorry for late answere.
I have been trying different things. I use the syncbyte from original eeprom. I have verified the way of getting them out so that I use the correct bytes (help from Girts). And I have used CANary to write them into the emulator. Also tried same way with MB Can so that it gets in correctly.
So I think this part is good.
Then I am trying to use the standalone mode with no CEM. So the CEM messages will be dropped. But I have no CEM now. The emulator is connected by CAN directly to ECU CAN. I use the same CAN on the ECU to read and write the software so I know those pins are correct.
When I boot the ECU and emulator up , I see the LED flash and turn out on red. But I get correct sync etc when I read with CANary to verify.
One thing I think of now , when I asked client to send be both ECU and the CEM. The CEM is looking like some version beween the gray and the black bigger one. (HW 8645171) This is black and gray. so maybe I use the wrong emulator 250 kb instead of the 500 kb?
The ECU is Volvo Bosch ME7 2001-2002 0261206828 , Could it be that this one uses the 500 kb CEM version?
Now I am about to try also install the CEM and keep the CEM messages too. And see if emulator acts differently.
I have also bought a newer ME7 ECU 0261 208 289 from 2002-2005 and see whether this one will work better on the bench.
Thanks in advance!

2 Andreas -
these ME7 ECU's may work with a lot of various systems even if HW numbers are the same, everything depends on firmware inside (K-line immo, 250 or 500 kb). Possibly Renault has same numbers too. So we have 4 possible algo's here.
Only thing how to detect which one you actually have is to make some CAN logs (ECU startup).
