immo emulator chrysler ccd jeep wrangler 1998

Postby roelantvdspek » 25 Aug 2025, 14:02

Hello!

I have a jeep wrangler 1998 with ccd pcm and scim. The car runs only 3 sec then dies.

Ecu has been replaced with cloned pcm, is supposed to be virgin, but problem is still there.

Car runs with borrowed pcm from other jeep together with scim and key from other jeep. So wiring is good...but have to give pcm back...

But we need to get this car running with its owm pcm.

I have bought the cartool scim emulator , ccd version. After installation i got the expected blinks. One short , one long and after a while a series of short blinks. Next startup i get only one short and one long blink. If i am not mistaken this means everything is fine, vin number is correct and not different from the ecu.

The key light in the dashboard switches of, but the car runs only 3 seconds.

DRB 3 tool indicates fuel off after 3 sec and key not seen.

Is it correct to assume the emulator works correct because of the blinks and the key light going off?

I have tried connecting to the emulator with k line and cartool program to verify and write vin number. Can this program read back the vin number as programmed or is it only writing a vin to the emulator?
I get a green "ok" sign when verifying... but what does it mean? Is it check on vin of emulator and ecu being the same? It also say's watch led but led never comes on...

Is there any need to have any key's teached into the ecu? Or is that irrelevant when using the emulator...

Please help me with a bit more information or advice. I have no clue why the ecu does not deblock the fuel...

Help would be appreciated a lot! I am realy stuck here.

Why not to test emulator with "good known ECU"?
You said - you have one set...
If you attach emulator instead of SKIM for tests it doesn't affect anything inside ECU....
Emulator is reusable, just leave JMP in config mode for next possible alignment.
Teaching procedure on these may take up to some minutes...

Otherwise hard to say what's wrong with your car.
