Immo edc16 dde5 problem

Postby HaviR » 28 Sep 2018, 19:53

Hi! I have a problem with emulator immo in a ECU BMW edc16 dde5 from E60. Alignement is ok but the engine start and stop automatically after one second. I have tryed alignement by INPA but show continius errors and can't complete. How can I do It?

You are on the right way...
so... step by step:
1) power on ECU
2) launch EMULATOR CONFIG utility, set EMU for alignment
3) launch INPA, perform EWS3 alignment, ignore errors if any (ECU script tries to communicate with CAS or EWS first, you haven't any!), just press "ignore" or "continue" or anything else with same meaning.
4) observe result
5) power off ECU, wait until main relay goes off.

now you can start your car.
If something fails, turn off ignition and restart procedure from beginning.
INPORTANT: ECU must have main relay attached, power must remain ON even if terminal "15" goes off (allow ECU to manage power supply by itself!).

I have done this steps and doesn´t works... :wall:

1. Connect OBD cable and turn on the key.

2. Open EWS emulator utility, read correct ISN and set emulator for alignment (step 2).

3. When it´s ready for alignment open INPA an press F9 for E60 model. Select engine M57TU DDE.5 like the image.

4. Press F6

5. Press F1 for CAS EWS3 menu. (show continuous errors but I ignore...)

6. Press F2 to reset and continue ignoring errors until show this.

What did you stored into emulator?
Can we see your ecu dumps?

Dumps? Do you speak about the read files?
I read the ISN Code from e2p file and then write in the emulator with configurator. With dde4 always works...

unanswered question - what did you actually stored into emulator?
some additional questions - how your ECU is connected? It is on the bench? Or on car? Is there anything else connected to DME_EWS line?

I don't understand your first question. Emulator is connected like buyer diagram, then Connect on the bench and write the correct ISN Code previously read from EEPROM.
I normaly in ecus edc16 dde4 use the configurator utility and complete the four steps and works ok, but with this ECU doesn't work, neither with inpa alignment.
The ECU is tested on car swaped with m57 306d2 engine. I have installed 4 immo emulators without problems, but anything is diferent here...

Nothing is different. Same principles as for all EWS3 ecu's.
Again -
1) what ISN code did you actually stored into emulator?
2) how your ECU is connected? It is on the bench? Or on car? Is there anything else connected to DME_EWS line? May be some picture available?

Believe me, it is hard to help if you do not understand what we wish to hear from you....

I'sorry, but my english is so regular and sometimes need use translator... It can change the meaning of the text.

1. The ISN code is A087.
2. The ECU alignment on the bench, then I test It on car. Nothing is connected in EWS line because the swap use simplified wiring.

I have tested other ECU in this car and start ok and if I clone a dde4 in this ECU starts too. The problem is that this engine has electric control for boost geometry and needs dde5.

Some days ago, I wrote an email to cartools support. They said that the software configurator utility of EWS3/cas emulator was designed for dde4 and It would can alignment problems with some dde5 ecus. For this reason I have tryed by INPA.

how do you manage terminal "15" (pin 7)?
Does your bench - top installation include main relay management using pin 44?
If no - that's your issue. Because you terminate POST procedure (which includes EWS rolling code update too).
Or you can proceed simple way, without any warranty. Power both (pins 1 and 7 together), make alignment, switch off "15" (pin 7), count to 20 and then remove "30" (pin 1). most likely everything will be OK if you follow this simple rule...

I have the same problem with this rule.
Then i've tryed with other ECU cloned with this dde5 and the same ...
Must be any difference between edc16 dde4 and dde5 procedure...

Did you find solution? Have similar problem with dde5, but this time the engine has been running with the emulator before for almost 1 year and has had an alignment problem with the emulator also before that solved without without any reasonable solution. At the moment bench alignment with inpa works(no ews tampering error), but on car with engine side connector connected alignment does not work. Have tested two engine looms, have disconnected all sensors and sometimes alignment works but no logic in which sensors can be connected. Have tested on dde5 car(at the moment it is a swap engine) with oem wiring and ews disconnected and same problem. Have cloned software to another ecu and same problem. Have not tested another emulator and with oem virginized ews yet, but if alignment works on bench, could it be emulator harware problem?

DDE5 (bmw E60 ecu)
for synchronization procedure via INPA or LAUNCH
very important !!! need connect to CAN H , CAN L and K-line (ECU) to diagnostic device / tester
and than make procedure
